Introducing Anthropic models on Amazon Bedrock for in-region inference in Seoul and Singapore

What changed: Amazon Bedrock added Anthropic Claude Opus 5 and Sonnet 5 in the Seoul region, and Sonnet 5 in Singapore, with inference processed locally for data residency.
How to use it:
- Open the Amazon Bedrock console and switch to the Asia Pacific (Seoul) or Asia Pacific (Singapore) region.
- Navigate to Model access, request access to the desired Anthropic models (Claude Opus 5, Claude Sonnet 5) if not already enabled.
- In your application code or SDK, set the Bedrock client endpoint to the chosen region (e.g., ap-northeast-2 or ap-southeast-1).
- Invoke the model using the standard Bedrock API (InvokeModel or Converse) with the model ID for the specific Anthropic model version.
Good for: developers needing local data processing in South Korea or Singapore
Amazon Bedrock now supports Anthropic's Claude Opus 5 and Claude Sonnet 5 with in-region inference in Seoul, and Claude Sonnet 5 in Singapore.
